Art of Water specializes in bespoke water features and mesmerizing multimedia shows. With nearly 30 years of experience, they have been involved in some unique projects, such as WYNN Macau Performance Lake, Galaxy Macau’s Crystal Lobby and Macau’s Nam Van Lake Multimedia Fountain: Asia's first floating multimedia fountain. These are some of the services they offer:
Art of Water caters to many customers, from private residences to resorts, shopping malls, and public spaces. They have done it all in the spectrum of decorative and immersive water displays.
From the point of view of PF consultants (comma CMMS), the fact that Art of Water provides maintenance services to their clients is very interesting, as PF Consultants can help make maintenance routines more efficient and cost-effective.
The requirements were for installing a system that would cater to the internal needs of Art of Water to streamline equipment maintenance procedures for their clients. The initial implementation done by PF Consultants focused on one significant customer of Art of Water. Still, the system has been set up for an easy upgrade to multiple independent venues, when required.
Art of Water uses the Comma CMMS software as its internal maintenance control tool for ICONSIAM’s Iconic Multimedia Water Feature in Bangkok. As an unique crowd-stopping feature, it is imperative to keep it working in its perfect condition.
This application is familiar to PF consultants as comma CMMS has been in service for over 7 years at Imagine, the multimedia water feature at Dubai Festival City, and for over 6 years at the Reem Central Park water feature in Abu Dhabi. Even though they’re not the same, these venues have many commonalities.
As in most projects, budget was a constraint. It was decided that the implementation services provided by PF consultants would be limited to the definition and setup of the functional location hierarchy and uploading the list of equipment currently set as in service.
Then, Art of Water had to add the additional items currently in stock (consumables and non-consumables), set up regular checklists, and define and implement scheduled maintenance jobs.
Regarding the implementation responsibilities of PF consultants, technical drawings were made available along with some video call discussions where the main goal for our implementation consultant was a good understanding of the system, the organizational workflows, and the expected outputs of the maintenance system, all with enough depth to allow for a versatile setup of the functional locations hierarchy.
It is important to note that the project consultant had the unusual opportunity to visit the site with Art of Water and see the actual technical equipment setup first-hand. That was of extreme value.
In practical terms, PF consultants set up 1085 functional locations and 53 major installed items in the system.
After the initial setup, PF consultants provided remote training. The training session was around 2 hours long and involved vital project personnel. After a quick rundown of the functional location structure, we focused on checklists and scheduled maintenance plans as the basis to start a gradual implementation of the system.
In parallel with manual work order creation, we always recommend that checklists are used first, linked to scheduled plans, and that technicians start by creating issues supported by work orders when they observe problems during their checks.
The system just entered practical usage, and we hope the requirements will be fulfilled entirely, as we believe that the basic foundation setup is solid and robust enough to support Art of Water's maintenance actions. As usual, PF consultants will continue to provide frequent upgrades (there has already been one system upgrade from 2.1.5 to 2.1.6 since the initial implementation work has started) and assist in ensuring the implementation is successful for the client.
