comma CMMS can be installed on a LAN server. We sell the servers with comma CMMS pre-installed with a locked version of linux (servers are of the HP proliant series, specific model will depend on the use).

Clients have no access to the operating system. For normal operation, the server requires an internet connection. In case there's no internet connection available to the comma CMMS server, the system is still useable but some of the information normally available will be missing.

The server needs internet access but needs not be accessible from the internet (except for port 22  - ssh sevice - to allow for remote maintenance/ troubleshooting by comma CMMS). Maintenance/ upgrade sessions can be pre-arranged with the client so port 443 can be opened on your firewall for how long it is required only.

The comma CMMS server is not a solution for when your LAN never has internet access. It is a solution intended for users that would like to keep their information internally.
